The flexible impeller pump, or flexible vane pump as it is otherwise referred to, is a versatile pump design, part of the positive displacement pump family. Thanks to the supple nature of the impellers, as they rotor they are connected to turn, they bend to push the fluid from the pump inlet to its outlet. The beauty of the flexible impeller pump is it's versatility thanks to the multiple materials the impellers are available in. It serves a wide range of applications and industries at a lower relative cost than other pumping technologies that can handle fluids of all types including solids, viscous slurries, light water based fluids and lubricating oils.
Castle Pumps offer a quality, Italian made flexible impeller pump range designed for long service life in almost any industrial process, with food grade and chemical resistant models available.
For an overview on the performance benefits, specifications and models in our range of flexible vane pumps, view our brochure here.
Performance benefits of the flexible impeller pump design include:
Supple impellers bend to pass viscous fluids and solids without damage
Applies low shear for delicate fluids that can be damaged or altered by other pump types
Reversible operation for tank to tank transfer, and cleaning solution to be ran through after use for CIP
Food grade FDA certified EPDM/NBR impellers and Stainless Steel sanitary full enclosures available
Flexible impeller pumps have smooth, steady flow even at low flow rates for accurate dosing and filling
Self-priming up to 6m for emptying sumps, tanks and IBCs without manual priming
Flexible vane pumps pumps are commonly utilised food & drink processing, cosmetics & pharmaceutical, chemical industry, general manufacturing and oil and fuel transfer.
