The range of Tuthill Cartridge Pumps are a simplified, compact, low cost, side ported version of the standard range of Internal Gear pumps and are designed to bolt either directly onto the customer's equipment (LFD) or into it leaving only the cover protruding (LF). The range consisted of 4 sizes with flows from 3.4lpm up to 23lpm.

This is now complemented by the introduction of the 1000 series which extends the flow rates of the range of externally mounted pumps up to 300 lpm whilst retaining the ability to fit the unique Tuthill Reversing Feature which ensures a constant direction of flow through the pump irrespective of the rotational direction of the shaft.

To complement to this range of complete pumps we can also offer a stripped assembly option. These consist of the rotor, cover & idler out of the standard range of pumps; the components are incorporated into the casing of the equipment to be lubricated along with the ports and bearing support for the shaft.

Features:

Tuthill Reversing System All the pumps can be fitted with the unique mechanical reversing system. This ensures that whichever direction the shaft rotates the direction of flow remains constant. This feature is especially relevant to the manufacturers of gearboxes and transmissions where the shaft rotation can change.
(Pumps fitted with the reversing feature have the letter R in the designation eg 2LFD becomes 2RFD)

Compact Design:

The range of externally mounted pumps have a low profile which is an advantage in that they are usually bolted to the exterior of the equipment being lubricated. This becomes an important factor if the equipment is being used in a hazardous environment where the pump can be vulnerable. eg mining & quarrying.

Porting:

All the pumps can be supplied with external or internal ports or a combination of both. Seals The range of externally mounted pumps can be fitted with a lipseal.
These are fitted when the oil level in the equipment being lubricated is below the centre line of the pump shaft and are fitted to prevent air ingression into the pump.
