Suppliers to the building services market

The building services industry refers to the design, installation and maintenance of systems required for the operation of both domestic and commercial properties. These systems include, but are no means limited to, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, gas, electricity and renewable energy supply, water supply, drainage and plumbing and fire detection and protection. 

Pumps are used within the majority of these systems in some way, shape or form, and Castle Pumps have been supplying such solutions for over 30 years. We understand the importance of reliable equipment in the building services market, due to the cost and inconvenience of a pump failure. Our experience in the industry enables us to specify and source quality pumping solutions that meet the requirements of the application exactly.

Our pump range for the building services industry

Due to the vast range of different systems within the building services industry, a wide variety of pumps are required to deal with each operation. For example, the pumped mediums can range from clean, low viscosity fluids such as water, or liquids containing high solid levels including sewage. Some of the pumps and the applications for which they are used include:

Circulating pumps are commonly supplied to the building services industry for applications such as hot water circulation in heating systems, and for pumping cold water around building cooling systems. Such pumps are often side channel pumps or centrifugal pumps, and are also used for building services such as firefighting systems, irrigation, ground sprinkling and domestic water supply. 

For sewage systems and draining facilities, pumps able to handle dirty water containing solids are required. For such applications we specify pumps including progressive cavity pumps and peristaltic pumps to the building services market. Other pumps commonly supplied include submersible pumps for pumping away building flood water.

Castle Pumps also design and supply pumps for integration into building management systems, where a property's HVAC, lighting and electricity systems for example are monitored and controlled. Using the example of a building cooling system, when the building management system detects that the temperature has hit the level that is determined too high, the pump would start circulating cold water.
