Castle Pumps Ltd win the award for Sales and Marketing at the NPB Awards 2015!
15th May 2015
Last night, the Nottingham Post Business Awards took place at the East Midlands Conference Centre, with hundreds of Nottinghamshire’s business elite attending in the hope of scooping an award – with Castle Pumps succeeding!
Castle Pumps were up for two awards at the ceremony, ‘International Trading’ and ‘Sales and Marketing’ – after being shortlisted from a total of 170 companies. Despite losing out to Chinook Sciences on the International Trading award, Castle attained the award for Sales and Marketing!
Operations Director Pablo Martinez-Moore said of winning the award; “Here at Castle Pumps we’re all really pleased at being recognised for our sales and marketing efforts. Over the last year we have launched a new website designed to really aid our customers in finding what they are looking for, and this combined with the excellent sales advice we provide is what I believe has contributed to this award.”
In the last year, Castle has focused a lot of effort into the website, with correct key word utilisation to improve Search Engine Optimisation, and into ensuring that the website is mobile optimised for the relevant devices. Mailshots are also sent out each month to keep customers informed of the latest offerings and to keep them updated with relevant industry news.
When the new website was being designed, it was key to create an innovative ‘enquiry list’ website feature to enable the user to have accessibility to a technical product regardless of their knowledge, whilst preventing them from mistakenly buying an unsuitable pump for their needs, as their product selection will always be checked by an in house technical sales engineer.
Pablo continued; “It's great to be acknowledged for all our hard work and our team feel proud to have been recognised in a fiercely competitive industry.Thank you to the Nottingham Post for hosting such a great evening, and congratulations to all of the other winners.”
The awards ‘aim to celebrate success, recognise achievement and highlight the innovative people and companies in Nottinghamshire’. The ceremony, which has now been running for over 20 years, has 13 award categories, in order to celebrate businesses from a variety of sectors.
The judging of the awards took place over a period of three weeks, with decisions being made in accordance with a strict set of criteria. In particular for our award, judges examined ‘the innovation and creativity of the business, as well as its ability to find solutions for sales and marketing challenges’.
