Bilge Pumps Page 2

Our range of heavy duty bilge water pumps

The bilge tank is usually located in the hull of a vessel and collects excess water that fails to drain off the side of the deck, such as wave splash, rain and deck wash water. A boat bilge pump is an integral piece of equipment, used to make sure that the bilge water tank is emptied regularly and ensure that the vessel’s stability is not compromised. As the water may contain contaminants such as oil, chemicals, particles and other materials, the bilge water pump used must be able to cope with a certain degree of debris. When it comes to marine bilge pumping systems, reliability is important as in rough seas there may be a lot of demand on the pump to regularly pump out the bilge water. To ensure the bilge tank can be virtually emptied dry, boat bilge pumps should usually be self priming.
