Fluid metering pumps & chemical dosing pumps

A dosing pump, or metering pump as it is also referred to, is a pump used to accurately deliver a precise quantity of fluid or substance at controlled intervals. Chemical metering pumps for example may apply a specific volume of chemical for water treatment in waste water plants. Other popular applications for liquid dosing pumps are the food, cosmetic and manufacturing industries where ingredients need to be added into a mixture on a production line. As accuracy is a key aspect of a liquid metering pump, a smooth, constant and low pulsating flow is required making pumps such as piston, progressive cavity and flexible impeller pumps suitable.
