Marine Fuel Pumps Page 4

Marine fuel transfer pumps for MGO, HFO and LSFO

Marine fuel pumps are required on board vessels to load fuel oil onto the ship, transfer it from tank to tank once on board and feed it to the engine. Vessel engines and boilers are usually powered by marine gas oil (MGO), heavy fuel oil (HFO) or more recently LSFO (low sulphur fuel oil). We offer cost effective, marine type approved pumps for all of these fuel types.

Marine Case Studies

A MGO pump, or marine gas oil pump in full, is usually a screw pump or gear pump thanks to their ability to handle lubricating fluids at high pressures. Emission regulations have seen vessels having to begin using low sulphur fuel; a cleaner but much thinner fluid. Vessels powered off LSFO, require slightly different models of marine fuel transfer pumps designed to specifically handle lower viscosity fuels than has been used traditionally - we have specific low sulphur screw pumps in our range.
