Split case centrifugal pumps for low viscosity fluids
Split casing pumps are single stage centrifugal pumps with a double suction impeller supported between bearings. Essentially, the pump casing is split into two separate chambers, hence the name split casing or double suction centrifugal pump. If it is split vertically in relation to the impeller it is referred to as a vertical split case pump, and if it is split horizontally is it a horizontal split case pump. This design makes split case centrifugal pumps suitable for higher flow rate applications usually involving water and thin, low viscosity liquids at low pressure.

Split case centrifugal pumps are popular pumps utilised in the following applications:
Water treatment
Booster pumping
Cooling tower circulation
Irrigation
Air conditioning systems
Water transfer
The double suction split case pump construction allows for easy maintenance as the internal pump components can simply be removed without having to disturb the pump motor and pipework.
