Cargo oil pumps for vessel loading and unloading
Cargo vessels shipping large volumes of fuel have large fuel storage tanks on board that need loading at the departure port and unloading at the arrival destination. Cargo pumps are installed to complete this transfer of fuel oil, and are usually screw pumps or gear pumps thanks to their ability to handle lubricating fluids. Due to the volume of fluid being moved, cargo oil pumps tend to have high flow capabilities. When unloading the fuel, cargo stripping pumps are required to ensure that the tanks are completely emptied. Pumps with excellent priming capabilities like screw pumps are ideal for this application.
