The Azcue LN ATEX Vertical Inline Pump is the most popular of the vertical centrifugal pumps; the vertical version of the MN horizontal. Th Azcue LN single stage centrifugal pumps is designed for applications involving relatively clean fluids such as water and low viscosity fuels.
The Azcue LN vertical inline centrifugal pump benefits from a back pull out design, allowing the motor to be removed without disconnecting the pump from the pipework, saving time during maintenance. Whilst being closed coupled, this centrifugal water pump has a lantern bracket, which means that whilst being of more compact construction, there is still space between the pump and motor so is the seal fails fluid will not enter the motor. Thanks to its wear rings, there is small clearance between the impeller and pump casing stopping these parts from wearing. Wearing rings are to be replaced periodically, preventing the more costly replacement of the impeller or casing.
These Azcue vertical inline pumps have separate shafts in the pump head and motor meaning that if one there is ever an issue with one shaft, there is no need to replace it all; a benefit over other pumps on the market that have one continuous shaft from head to motor. If required, the LN close coupled centrifugal pump is available with an external vacuum or electric priming pump. For longer suction distances, a vacuum priming pump would be the better solution thanks to its ability to dry run for short periods of time.
The Azcue LN close coupled vertical inline pump is available with the following material options:

Castle Pumps received an enquiry from a regular maritime logistics customer who has over 90 vessels - a lot of which have Azcue pumps installed onboard. One of their tug supply vessels needed to replace some existing seawater cooling pumps for the onboard air conditioning system. We supplied some vertical inline pumps suitable for use with seawater and which matched their existing dimensions and performance requirements.
This customer required a high flow fresh water transfer pump which would be free from corrosion and therefore keep the water contaminant free. We selected a bronze pump which we knew would be able to handle this type of fluid without any complications. We also decided to couple the pump with an electric 4 pole motor running at 1450 RPM which would increase the lifespan of the pump and in time, reduce overall costs.
The LN Vertical Inline Centrifugal Pump is manufactured by Azcue Pumps. As the official UK Agent of Azcue Pumps, Castle Pumps are a leading Bombas Azcue supplier in the UK with unrivalled technical knowledge. Azcue Pumps are a European manufacturer with over 100 years’ experience in type approved pumps for marine and offshore applications. Today their pumps are installed in more than 10,000 vessel builds. Whilst originally developed for the marine market, Azcue Pumps’ reliability in applications that depend upon the safety and operation of a ship saw them become a desirable product in industrial applications involving water, fuels and lubricants.
One of the key benefits of the LN vertical inline pump like the other models in the Azcue range, is that is benefits from interchangeable parts for reduced on board stockholding. We guarantee supply of spares for 15 years from model discontinuation for long term pump servicing., saving the user from having to prematurely replace a pump that just needs maintenance.
Azcue LN vertical centrifugal pumps are cast, machined and assembled at their foundry in Spain. Each pump is manufactured to order and designed to fit your process, resulting in greater efficiency and lower overall lifetime cost in terms of wear and energy consumption. Before leaving the factory, pumps are individually tested to confirm performance meets the requirements set out in your enquiry.
Single stage centrifugal pumps are the most common pump type for the transfer of low viscosity fluids in high flow rate and relatively low-pressure installations. The centrifugal pump design is often associated with the transfer of water, but is also a popular solution for handling thin fuels and chemicals. This combined with its motor being located above the pump head, makes the Azcue LN vertical inline pump suited to applications where installation space may be limited including:
