Jet centrifugal pumps for low flow & pressure applications
Jet pumps are a type of self priming centrifugal/multistage pump with close similarities to a side channel pump. Jet pumps can have a single or several impellers and their design means particle handling is limited. An internal diffuser is situated within the pump head constricting the passage of fluid (venturi effect), creating an area of low pressure and vacuum. This enables the pump to prime from depths up to 9m. They are commonly used for drawing water from wells for domestic use, pressure boosting applications and generally have lower flows or pressures than a side channel or self priming pump could achieve. If an application requires the pump to draw fluid from a well deeper than 9M, a submersible pump or vertical Immersion pump would be more suitable.
