Cooling Pumps Page 3

Closed loop cooling water pumps & refrigerant pumps

Closed loop cooling systems are essentially designed to remove unwanted heat, and often use water cooling pumps to circulate chilled water around. Industrial cooling tower pumps for example remove heat from engines, machinery, plant and turbines, whereas HVAC cooling systems are often used for temperature comfort purposes in large office buildings, hospitals and schools.

Industrial Case Studies

Centrifugal pumps are ideal for water cooling pumps as they are designed for the handling of water at various performance requirements. Cooling pumps, whilst generally using water, can also transfer coolants such as liquid refrigerant or glycol. Liquid refrigerant pumps would generally be constructed of stainless steel to ensure compatibility with the fluid.
