High pressure water injection pumps for oil fields
Water injection is used during oil production to increase the amount of the oil in a reservoir that is able to be extracted. Without it only around 30% of available oil is usually retrieved. The process sees water being injected into the bottom of the reservoir to increase pressure within it and essentially push the oil towards the well. By essentially replacing the oil that has been recovered, the pressure remains the same keeping the reservoir in production.
In order to achieve the high pressures required, water injection pumps are installed in oil fields and rigs. We offer a full range of centrifugal pumps and side channel pumps for this application. As much of oil recovery is done offshore, seawater is usually the most available source of water for the injection process. For seawater injection pumps we specify the casing in bronze; a cost effective alternative to stainless steel whilst being durable and resistant to corrosion caused by salt.
