AODD pumps, or air operated diaphragm pumps, are positive displacement pumps driven and powered by compressed air rather than an electric motor. The AODD pump design means that it can cope with pretty much any fluid from water to viscous slurries to 90% solids including large, shear sensitive particles without degrading them. Air operated double diaphragm pumps are able to benefit from variable flow or pressures just by adjusting the air power supply. Read our guide to AODD pumps as a pumping technology here.
For an overview on the performance benefits, specifications and models in our range of Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps, view our brochure here.
The air operated diaphragm pump design makes it suitable for use in a wide range of industries:
Food and beverages
Pharmaceutical
Mining and construction
Printing, paint and ink
Waste water
Petrochemical
AODD pumps are self-priming and therefore have good suction capabilities, as well as being able to dry run without doing any damage to the pump making them useful for batch operations in industry. It is common for smaller sized air operated double diaphragm pumps to be portable and moved to any air power supply.
