Biogas Pumps
Biogas & Biomass Pumps for Anaerobic Digestion
The biogas industry, or anaerobic digestion as it is otherwise known as, is growing with the increased focus on renewable energy. It refers to the process of organic waste such as manure, food waste and vegetation being fermented to produce biogas that can be used to generate energy. Biomass pumps are used at various stages of the process; liquid manure pumps are used at the beginning, followed by digester pumps where the collected waste is transferred to the digester. Due to the abrasive nature of the handled medium and solid content, progressive cavity and peristaltic are usually the technologies selected for biogas pumps.
