Peristaltic pumps are a form of positive displacement pump suitable for high flow or high pressure applications, and are also known for their ability to handle high solid slurries, viscous products and aggressive fluids. As the only part of the pump that comes into contact with the pumped liquid is the flexible inner tube, a peristaltic tube pump as it is otherwise known, can be used with a large range of fluids by selecting a compatible tube. Peristaltic pumps are often used within the following applications:

Peristaltic tube pumps also benefit from a reversible flow, which makes them ideal for situations whereby the pipes need to be emptied after the pumping process. With a maximum lift of 9m, they also have very high suction capabilities in comparison to other pumps.
The only wetted part of the peristaltic pump is the inner tube, and therefore there is only one component that is prone to wear, hence the lower maintenance costs. The other advantage of this is that there is no risk of leaking from the seals. Furthermore, peristaltic hose pumps can be ran dry ensuring piece of mind in applications where flow into the pump is intermittent, or the mixture being pumped has a high dry solid content.
