Aquaculture, or fish farming as it is often referred to as, is a growing industry where fish, crustaceans and molluscs are bred, reared and harvested. This can be done on land in a manmade pen, in rivers, lakes and the sea. Fish farming requires a fresh supply of water to be recirculated to ensure it does not get stagnant, which relies on water circulating pumps. Pumps for aquaculture recirculation systems will generally be centrifugal pumps due to their ability to efficiently handle the transfer of water at good flow rates. >

Our range of aquaculture pumps, or fish farm pumps as some call them, are available in a range of performance capabilities depending upon the size of the farming activity at hand. There may be the additional fish farm pump requirement of a grinder centrifugal pump, able to handle fish waste should this need to be disposed of. When selecting an aquaculture pump the material can be crucial with some species to ensure high yield rates from hatches, as some pump materials can be detrimental to crustaceans and hatchlings.
