Food Grade Food Transfer Pumps Approved to FDA, EHEDG and 3A
Food transfer pumps are typically manufactured from stainless steel or other food grade materials, to ensure the product is being handled in a way that is safe for human consumption. Food grade pumps must be constructed so that all surfaces of the pump are smooth to eliminate the chance of bacteria harbouring. It is important to note that not all food transfer pumps are approved as food grade pumps, as in some instances just a stainless steel pump may be sufficient e.g. if the handled product is to be boiled after handling. If in fact a food grade transfer pump is required, then we have a range of EHEDG, 3A and FDA approved pump models available in our hygienic pump range.
Depending on the performance requirements, temperature, the viscosity of the liquid being transferred and whether the product is shear sensitive, differing pump technologies will be used for a food safe pump. Our offering includes food grade drum pumps, flexible impeller, diaphragm and progressive cavity pumps. Clean in place pump models are also available.
